We're safely back in Dunfermline and I can get caught up on some of the picture posting.

We booked in late on Sunday night in Gateshead (near Newcastle), and crashed - HARD LOL

The next day we slept in, since we had the room for two nights. Eventually we agreed to go out on a bit of a drive. We drove to Hexham where the photos are from, then to Consett to eat at the Wetherspoon's there. One of the better ones - not the best, but OK.

We skipped trying to find the theme park on Saturday -- because Leyland wouldn't let us leave XD -- let's just say that in general signs were thin on the ground, and thin in the air.

So, Sunday we went out to the theme park when they opened - Becca and I ran around like a couple of 5 year olds high on sugar XD

So, we got up this morning, packed the car and Nicci and I went off to the exhibit. After that, we ate lunch at an oriental buffet in the Red Dragon Centre. Full of good stuff, we headed off towards Glastonbury -- wanting to check the Tor before we went to our Travelodge -- let's put it this way - after going up and down a few wrong streets, we ended up just going to the Travelodge - After a quick shopping trip to Morrison's, Nicci and I went off to drive as close to the Tor as we could -- I got a couple of photos, but that's it. I have to admit after the morning in Cardiff, I was knackered XD

So, we went from Chester down to Cardiff, via the Brecon Beacons -- what a drive! 4-5 hours *sighs*

And of course we had trouble finding the Travelodge here as well LOL -- however, damn. THIS PLACE IS SO WORTH IT

Nice Travelodge, nice room, within walking distance of the Atlantic Wharf and the Mill. Centre :D

It's an overcast Tuesday morning and we're heading from Chester down to Cardiff -- through the Brecon Beacons -- and yes, we won't stop for anyone - they could be cannibals!

Lot's of driving -- roughly 4-5 hours and then there's all the stopping we'll be doing to actually take pictures XD

Chester? Stinks when it comes to finding a place to eat at a decent price after 7PM

Seriously, I miss Odense -- there I KNOW several places where I could've gotte food until at least 9PM.

Apart from that? All's good, the weather was great for the Animal Park up in Barrow -- I got burned, Nicci's hubby got burned as did Nicci. Bex... no. She was wearing a hoodie while the rest of us were slowly roasted by the sun.

(let's not mention we watched Torchwood tonight and that I love Ianto -- the needy bastard. (not that I don't understand him, I do)

Friday 3rd

Friday was a loooong day. We went through Alnwick for the castle (and it was raining *sighs*)

Then we met up with Terry in Newcastle, had something to eat and checked into the worst Travelodge I've ever been in. Loud and stinky.

This will be today's last post -- and possibly tomorrow's as well, it will depend on a few things, including the wifi at the travelodge in Newcastle.

As it is, we leave the house around 9ish tomorrow morning, so I for one am heading off to bed.

No, I'm probably not being very PC under the cut, but I sort of need to get this down.

So, today was split into two parts - the first half of it, from noon till 4 - I went up into town with Nicci's husband to have a pint. I didn't take all that many pictures as I've a tone of them already from previous trips. but as always, the Abbey ruin and the Abbey church are quite photogenic.

After dinner, Nicci, the youngest daughter and I went on a little drive -- to get me used to driving here and to go to Dysart beach and harbour.

After doing the BBQ last night, we needed a late morning, which we got -- before heading out the catspaw_sgjd's house. We had a cup of her good coffee and then headed out to the butterfly farm.

After a detour or two *grins* we made it -- and damn, I keep forgetting how hot the housing is for the butterflies.

Good news, Nicci managed to get up today and she felt and looked a hell of a lot better than last night.

Bad news, Cats had done something to her knee so she had to cancel.

However, we still managed to make it up to the Scottish Deer Centre
